Foundations is the Sandhills membership class. Pastor Jeff Philpott and his wife Michelle lead this introductory Community Group between two and four times a year. Here's where you will learn all about Sandhills: what we believe, how we relate to God and each other, and how we reach out to our community.
One common question we hear is, "Why is this group required for membership? Shouldn't being a member of Christ’s church be enough?" The Bible doesn’t address the issue of local church membership. The truth is, there is only one global church. However, we believe there are many benefits to joining a local church.
The first benefit: Family
Joining a church is like joining a family. You want to be with a group of people you can trust. You want to be in a church with leadership that you feel you can fully support. You will learn about the character and heart of this church, and its leaders, by getting to know the pastor and his wife as they lead Foundations. You will also get to know other individuals on a more personal level as they participate in this time with you.
The second benefit: Theology ("The Study of God")
Whether you are just investigating Christianity or hold a theological degree, you will value the opportunity to explore what the Bible teaches about various elements of faith in Christ. You will also learn what the Christian and Missionary Alliance (our denomination) and Sandhills Community Church believe about various Biblical issues.
Information about the next available Foundations group will be posted when it becomes available.
